Brent Council is proposing a number of new sites across the borough for designated e-bike bays. There is one in the BRAT area, at the end of Dyne Road near Kilburn High Road.
BRAT is in favour of these bays in principle, both because they promote cycling and also because they may encourage users not to abandon their bikes on pavements as below!

Consultation closes soon (16 February). The invitation to do so from Brent is as follows:
“The consultation is available online – https://haveyoursay.brent.gov.uk
Should you have any queries regarding the design of the schemes please do not hesitate to contact Mr Christopher Egeonu – on 020 8937 5230 or by emailing highwaysconsult@brent.gov.uk“
People may want to consider:
- because it’s bicycles and not cars, is there an opportunity to make the bay narrower than a standard one for cars (e.g. by diagonally parking the bikes) thus easing the tight space at that end of Dyne Road?
- do we want the solo motorcycle parking bays being retained? Why not replace them with this rather than consume some other valuable space?
