BRAT has been working with Brent on trees in our area – getting stumps removed and new trees for our streets where so many have been lost; and the good news is that 20 plus new trees may be available. Working with Brent, we have identified likely sites and will be talking to individual householders about the plan.
Species (for example, amelanchier, judas tree and native acers) will be compact in height and roots; and they will help maintain the colour, character and environmental health of our conservation area. Do let us know if you have a gap outside your house requiring a tree; and don’t be surprised if we knock on your door to check that you will be happy when one arrives. We hope the planting will take place before Christmas, with further phases of tree work – including eventual planting for Willesden Lane – to come.
If you have ideas about trees, do please get in touch.
