It’s a saw point

We have all seen the welcome arrival of new trees in our area; and the prospect of them coming into leaf and flower in Spring is exciting. But last week, in Streatley Road, one of those trees was sawn down – a bizarre act of vandalism that has been explained by the fact that a bicycle had been locked to the tree. It is easier to saw through a young tree trunk than a bike lock; and the bike thief saw his or her opportunity.

So: don’t lock your bike to a tree – to do so puts both at risk!
